Throstle Nest Riding for the Disabled Group is a Registered Charity No. 1073620.
We rely on donations, grants and fund raising to be able to run the lessons.

There are many ways you can help us.

The Giving Machine – is a social enterprise set up to help small charities and schools to raise money. If you shop on line you could make donations to our charity without it costing you anything! Simply go to The Giving Machine website, choose us as your charity and when you shop on line via the Giving Machine site the retailer will make a donation to us. It costs you nothing but the time taken to log on to their site.

You can make a donation by cheque payable to Throstle Nest Riding for the Disabled Group. Our address is Throstle Nest Riding School, Fagley Lane, Bradford BD2 3NU. You can donate on line at or follow the link at the bottom of this page.

We also have a small shop area selling horse related gifts and cards, keyrings and coasters featuring our horses and ponies and second hand riding clothes, hats, boots, etc. All money raised goes to the RDA group.

Could you organise a sponsored walk, cake bake, silence, slim, or something else? Sarah can provide sponsorship forms if you want to do something to support the RDA group or you can make your own fundraising page at  .

Does your employer offer grants to charities? We will do the paperwork and make the application if you can give us the introduction.
Do you have any jumble to get rid of? We work with Ecokids to make money from recycled clothing, bedding, shoes, bric-a-brac. Just bring your bags of jumble to the stables and Sarah will store them in the container until the next collection. Ecokids collect from us about three times a year.

Come to our events. We join with the Riding School to organise and cater for shows, pantomimes, barbeques, children’s parties, social evenings, information evenings, etc. These are advertised at the stables and on our face book pages. Come along if you can.

We hold tombolas and raffles both at the stables and at events in the local area. You can help us by buying tickets and taking part and by giving us your unwanted gifts or any other items you think we could raffle or use on a tombola. Whatever it is we will find a use for it!!
Advertise in the arena. Several local businesses have taken advertising banners on the arena walls. Over 250 riders and their families visit the stables every week and more people come to special events so the banners are seen by lots of people.
